LIFE AND CAREER

Born 18th March 1963 in Edappalli situated in Kochi, Kerala as the son of V.N.Appukkuttan and V.K.Subhangi . Family shifted it’s residents from Edappalli to Vengoor, nearest village of Angamaly when he was 6 years old. He has 3 elder brothers and one younger sister. Studied in Changampuzha memorial school , Edappalli, Infant Jesus School Kidangoor, St. Joseph’s School Kidangoor,Brahmanandodayam School, Kalady. Completed his college studies in Sree Sankara College, Kalady, U.C.College, Aluva and Maharajas college Ernakulam. Passed B.A and M.A. Malayalam with rank. Secured M.Phil Degree from Kerala University in 1987. Had his research with UGC JRF in the subject ‘Elements of Fantasy in Malayalam Short Story and got Ph.D. Degree in 1992.

In October 1989 he joined as Lecturer in Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University in UP state. During the period from February 1991 to August 2010 worked in Govt. College, Mahe under Government of Pondicherry. In August 2010 he joined in Sree Sankaracharya University, Kalady. Became Professor of Malayalam in 2011. Served as head of the Department during the period from 2018 to 2020. Married Dr.B.Parvathy in May 1993. She worked as Lecturer/ Associate Professor in various Government Colleges in Kerala. Daughter Abhirami is B.Arch student
